Structural Bodywork and Yoga Workshop, January 22, 2010

Structural Bodywork and Yoga for the Lumbar Spine
Casa de Luz, Ceilo Room
Saturday, January 22, 2010 from 10 am to 5pm

Low back pain is something most of us experience at one time or another. Chronic stiffness, sacroiliac joint instability, even disc injury and nerve impingement are all affected and, in some cases, even caused by unhealthy movement habits. In this class you will learn the structure and function of common postural imbalances of the lumbar spine and pelvis and massage techniques coupled with yoga asanas to relieve pain and prevent injury.

Understanding how to recognize and address unhealthy postural and movement habits through deep tissue and myofascial release massage techniques and easy to learn yoga asanas will set you apart from other therapists, increasing your marketability and clinical effectiveness. What you learn in this workshop can be the key to helping clients who suffer from low back pain.

Participants will receive a detailed handout with clear explanations and pictures of the anatomy and each asana to be covered. Please come dressed to move as we will be doing yoga for a good portion of the class. The class will cost $125 and provides 6 CEU credits.
